Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the TripPortier mobile application ("the App") operated by TripPortier ("us", "we", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the App.
2. Description of Service
TripPortier is a travel planning application that provides:
- Smart packing list creation and management
- Trip planning and itinerary organization
- Real-time flight tracking and notifications
- eSIM data plan purchasing and management
- Weather forecasts for travel destinations
- Trip sharing with friends and family
- AI-powered travel assistant and recommendations
- AI-generated packing suggestions and local insights
- AI Email Import: Forward booking confirmation emails to automatically extract and create itinerary items
- Airport transfer booking services worldwide
- Offline access to trips with local data caching (premium feature)
- Travel statistics and achievements system
- Customizable travel insights dashboard
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features, you must create an account. You may sign up using:
- Email and password
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with Google
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
3.3 Account Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Trip Plus Subscription
TripPortier offers a premium subscription ("Trip Plus") with additional features. Subscription options include:
- Monthly subscription
- Yearly subscription
- Lifetime purchase
4.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
4.3 eSIM Purchases
- eSIM data plans are one-time purchases processed through Stripe
- Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by data plan
- eSIMs are delivered digitally and cannot be refunded once activated
- eSIM availability depends on device compatibility
4.4 Refunds
- Subscription refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy
- eSIM refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for unactivated eSIMs
- Contact us within 14 days of purchase for refund requests
4.5 Offline Mode (Premium Feature)
- Offline mode is available exclusively to Trip Plus subscribers
- Offline data is stored locally on your device and subject to device storage availability
- Image cache limit: 100MB (automatically managed)
- Offline trip data is automatically deleted 30 days after trip end date
- You are responsible for ensuring sufficient device storage
- Offline data is device-specific and does not sync across devices
- Some features (AI assistant, flight tracking, weather updates) require internet connection even in offline mode
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
- Upload malicious code or content
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Collect user data without consent
- Use the App to send spam or unsolicited communications
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
6. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TripPortier and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of content you create (trips, packing lists, etc.) but grant us a license to use, store, and display this content as necessary to provide the service.
6.1 Local Data Storage
By using offline features, you acknowledge that:
- Trip data cached locally is your responsibility to backup
- Local data may be lost if you uninstall the app or clear app data
- We are not liable for loss of locally cached data
- Automatic cleanup of expired data is a feature, not a bug
7. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including:
- FlightAware: Flight data is provided by FlightAware and subject to their terms
- Airalo: eSIM services are provided by Airalo and subject to their terms
- Stripe: Payment processing is handled by Stripe
- Weather APIs: Weather data is provided by third-party services
- Google Gemini: AI features are powered by Google's Gemini AI service
- 12Go Asia: Transport booking services (trains, buses, ferries, transfers, flights) for Asia are provided through 12Go Asia
- WelcomeTransfers: Worldwide airport transfer services are provided through WelcomeTransfers
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
7.1 Transport Booking Services (Asia)
Transport booking features for Asia (trains, buses, ferries, transfers, and flights) are provided through our partnership with 12Go Asia Pte Ltd. By using these services:
- All bookings are processed and fulfilled by 12Go Asia, not TripPortier
- You are entering into a direct contractual relationship with 12Go Asia and the respective transport operators
- Payment for transport bookings is processed by 12Go Asia
- Booking confirmations, tickets, and travel documents are issued by 12Go Asia
- All bookings are subject to 12Go Asia's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
- Refunds, cancellations, and changes are handled according to 12Go Asia's policies and the specific transport operator's terms
- TripPortier acts solely as an intermediary providing access to 12Go Asia's platform and is not responsible for booking fulfillment, delays, cancellations, or service quality
- For any booking-related issues, please contact 12Go Asia's customer support directly

7.2 Airport Transfer Services (Worldwide)
Airport transfer booking features are provided through our partnership with WelcomeTransfers. By using these services:
- All bookings are processed and fulfilled by WelcomeTransfers, not TripPortier
- You are entering into a direct contractual relationship with WelcomeTransfers and the respective transfer operators
- Payment for transfer bookings is processed by WelcomeTransfers
- Booking confirmations and travel documents are issued by WelcomeTransfers
- Refunds, cancellations, and changes are handled according to WelcomeTransfers' policies
- TripPortier acts solely as an intermediary providing access to WelcomeTransfers' platform and is not responsible for booking fulfillment, delays, cancellations, or service quality
- For any booking-related issues, please contact WelcomeTransfers' customer support directly
8. Flight Tracking Disclaimer
Flight tracking information is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy:
- Flight data may be delayed or inaccurate
- Always verify flight status with your airline
- We are not responsible for missed flights or travel disruptions
- Notification delivery depends on your device settings and network connectivity
9. eSIM Terms
- eSIMs are provided by Airalo and subject to their terms and conditions
- Data plans have expiration dates and data limits as specified at purchase
- eSIM compatibility depends on your device; verify compatibility before purchase
- We are not responsible for network coverage or quality in your destination
- Unused data does not roll over after plan expiration
10. AI-Generated Content
10.1 AI Features
TripPortier uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to provide:
- Smart packing suggestions based on destination and weather
- AI travel assistant for destination questions
- Local insights about culture, customs, and safety
- Personalized itinerary recommendations
10.2 Accuracy Disclaimer
AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only:
- AI responses may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or errors
- Always verify critical information (visa requirements, health advisories, safety warnings) with official sources
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
- AI suggestions should not replace professional travel advice
10.3 User Responsibility
By using AI features, you acknowledge:
- You are responsible for verifying any AI-generated information before relying on it
- We are not liable for decisions made based on AI recommendations
- AI features require an internet connection and may not be available offline
- Your queries and trip data are processed by third-party AI services (see Privacy Policy)
11. AI Email Import Service
11.1 How It Works
TripPortier provides an AI-powered email forwarding service that allows you to automatically create itinerary items from booking confirmation emails:
- You receive a unique email address (e.g., yourname@import.tripportier.com)
- Forward booking confirmation emails (flights, hotels, restaurants, activities) to this address
- AI analyzes the email content and attachments to extract booking details
- Extracted bookings appear in your app for review and approval before being added to your trips
11.2 Email Processing
By using the Email Import feature, you consent to the following:
- Emails you forward are received and processed by our secure email service (Amazon SES)
- Email content and attachments (PDFs, images) are analyzed by AI (Google Gemini) to extract booking information
- Extracted data includes: booking type, confirmation numbers, dates, times, locations, prices, and provider details
- PDF attachments from emails are stored securely in Firebase Storage for attachment to your itinerary items
- We retain pending booking data for up to 30 days; after processing, only the extracted itinerary item is stored
- Original emails are not permanently stored after processing
11.3 Data Accuracy
AI extraction may not be 100% accurate:
- Always review extracted booking details before accepting them into your trip
- You can edit any extracted fields (title, dates, times, locations) before confirmation
- We display a confidence indicator to help you gauge extraction reliability
- We are not responsible for errors in AI-extracted booking information
11.4 Acceptable Use
When using Email Import, you agree:
- Only forward emails that you have the right to share (your own booking confirmations)
- Do not forward emails containing sensitive personal information beyond booking details
- Do not use the service to process spam, malicious content, or unauthorized communications
- Your unique email address is personal and should not be shared publicly
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TripPortier and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
16. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Swiss arbitration rules.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TripPortier regarding your use of the App.
